Graphs

This is a graph that shows the percent of students that are bullied and physically injured from bullying during the 2007 school year. As you can see, the highest percent of bullying occurs in 6th grade, when maturity has not yet been reached and bullying is the lowest percent at the end of high school, in 12th grade. Close to 43 percent of 6th graders were bullied in a school year.

This is a graph that shows the homicides in U.S. schools from 1992/93 to 2009. Thankfully the numbers have very much decreased since 1992, but there are still numbers. You see the numbers rise in certain areas, which could mean that the shooting that did take place was then done again by a "copy cat". As you remember, not too long ago, a shooting at Chardon High School, which left 3 dead. These may not all have been caused by bullying, but something made these people mad, and that could be a very likely cause of the shootings.

This is a graph that shows the rate of school bullying and other school discipline problems. 21 percent of elementary students reported being bullied, 43 percent of middle school students reported it and 22 percent of high school students reported it and those are only the kids that spoke up. Some are still holding that knowledge in secret and silence.
